Rose Hill Elementary School is located at 5605 Corby Street. Located in the historic Benson area, Rose Hill Elementary is bound to the south by the old Country Club area of Omaha. Rose Hill serves a diverse community boasting a wide range of socio-economic levels. The newly renovated building opened to students in March 2002. Currently, Rose Hill serves approximately 285 students in grades Kindergarten through Five. The school's mission statement is "building a solid foundation for life-long learning." Rose Hill's educational program emphasizes three learning goals for students: reading, writing and mathematics. Rose Hill is proud of its active, supportive parent teacher organization and its partnerships through the Adopt-a-School program.

Our Vision

Rose Hill Elementary School will be an exemplary neighborhood school renowned throughout Omaha for its positive and supportive learning environment, collaboration and teamwork among staff and community, and a standard of high expectations for all resulting in ever-increasing student achievement.

Strategy:  Gradual Release with skills groups during guided and independent practice; Kagan Cooperative Learning structures, Manipulatives, fact fluency, Mach Coach, math journals, math talk, RTI, tutoring, academic vocabulary, Accessible Mathematics (Staff Jig Saw PD Instructional Shift focus areas   (Shifts: 1, 6, & 9)), coaching, observations and follow up feedback

·         Measurable Objective (growth goal): Measurable Objective (growth goal): The percent of students meeting/exceeding the standards on the NeSA-M will increase by 5%.

Strategy: Gradual Release with skills groups during guided and independent practice; Cross curricular instruction, Kagan Structures, Science fair, use of science books in guided reading, graphic organizers, district power points, Compilation of Science vocabulary – focus on explicit teaching utilizing Marzano’s 6-step structure, Examining and knowing Science Standards & Vertical alignment (PD) related to Science Standards on the K-6 continuum, coaching, observations and follow up feedback

·         Measurable Objective (growth goal): Measurable Objective (growth goal): The percent of students meeting/exceeding the standards on the NeSA-S will increase by 5%.

 

Goal Area: Climate (indicated by Climate Survey data)

Focus: Students at this school show respect for one another, all students, regardless of ethnicity or gender are treated with respect at this school

Strategy:  Kagan Classbuilding and Teambuilding within classrooms, positive relationship building within classrooms, student mentors program (staff mentor students), guidance classes, small groups with counselor, PALS leadership group, Silent Mentor program, Character Counts committee, Culture presentation to staff,

Measurable Objective (growth goal): The Item Index Rating for the item “Students at this school show respect for one another” will increase for Students.
